Karen Ellis – Office Manager
Karen was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1980 with her family, leaving behind the picturesque American heartland.
Karen attended Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida studying psychology and philosophy. She moved to Sonoma County in 1989 to continue her studies in psychology. She enjoyed the rolling hills and gorgeous landscapes as well as the open-minded and unique character of area residents. Upon her return to Florida she continued to take classes in computer science, anthropology and languages. She worked in a research and development laboratory on prototype surgical saws, performed QA auditing for an intraocular lens manufacturer, and did sales and administration for a home inspection company.
Karen missed Sonoma County and in 2004 she moved to Sebastopol and shortly afterwards began working at Leff Construction. At Leff she quickly moved from office administration and clerical work to office manager. She is the hub of activity in the office, coordinating much of the field work and assisting our superintendents, staff and clients with a variety of requests. Her attention to detail, thoughtfulness and customer service orientation make her the perfect contact as we hear from potential clients. She enjoys both the technical aspects of construction project work and the interaction with clients and colleagues necessary for the successful outcome of Leff Construction’s projects.
When she’s not at work Karen enjoys exploring Sebastopol and the North Bay region with her daughter, gallery hopping and all things art related.
