Jamie Meacham – Engineer Jamie Meacham

Jamie’s home town is Morro Bay. He received his B.S. in Architectural Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and is a licensed civil engineer. Jamie’s father was a journeyman carpenter, and Jamie spent his childhood living in construction sites — his dad built the houses he grew up in. Jamie helped his father build three semi-custom homes then worked as a carpenter building home additions while he was in college. He also spent some time as a drafter for a modular bridge builder. Jamie has worked in structural engineering since 1985.

Some of Jamie's projects include the Daniels residence in Sea Ranch, featured in Contemporary California Architects by the Taschen press. Another residential project was the Chilcott Family Complex in Santa Rosa. This was a complex wood frame and steel project. He did engineering work on seismic upgrade jobs at El Paseo de Sonoma and the Old St. Rose School in Santa Rosa. El Paseo de Sonoma was an unreinforced masonry building and St. Rose was a multi-story concrete building. Both of these were historic buildings that needed extra attention to upgrade while retaining their historic beauty.

Jamie joined Leff Construction as a staff engineer and project manager in 2005. His presence on the Leff Construction management team contributes to our ability to provide complete design, engineering and building services.

In addition to his B.S. degree Jamie has taken classes in construction law, construction management, welding and computers at Santa Rosa Junior College and San Jose State University. When he's not at work he enjoys fly fishing, backpacking, remodeling work at his own home and playing guitar and bass.
